Programmes

One of the aims of HKIM is to raise the professional standard of marketing practitioners and to improve the competency of its members in meeting business challenges particularly in Asia. With this aim in mind, HKIM organises a series of education courses, programmes and awards with leading education partners.

Continuing studies and personal development are crucial to anyone in professional practice. For marketing practitioners, a good understanding of the relevant theories and techniques, the needs of customers and the significance of promotions are the essentials in which HKIM is keen to promote.

HKIM is in collaboration with a number of first-class institutions in the delivery of its programmes:

Learning Outcomes / Programme Objectives


Upon completion of the HKIM programmes, students should be able to:

  • Appreciate the importance of a customer orientated marketing approach
  • Grasp the fundamental knowledge of marketing
  • Manage the comprehensive processes of marketing
  • Formulate an effective product strategy through systematic planning of product life cycle, positioning, branding and packaging
  • Plan, develop and evaluate appropriate promotional campaigns to effectively market products and services
  • Understand and apply common pricing strategies available to business
  • Understand the principles of marketing channels and characteristics of wholesaling and retailing


Advancement Pathway

There are two levels of studies for students to be awarded the HKIM professional academic qualification, namely the Diploma and Professional Diploma. These qualifications are not only testimonials of professional certification, but also provide a route to full membership of HKIM and a pathway to higher degrees of academic excellence.

Other marketing qualifications offered through HKIM

HKIM operates as an examination centre for certain overseas awarding bodies.  It includes Asia Marketing Federation: Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) qualifying examinations and China Business Manager Association (中国商业技师协会): China Marketing and Sales Manager Certification.
