Bachelor Degree

Curtin University is the largest university in Western Australia with 24,000 students, and has developed a reputation as a practical, innovative and internationally focused centre of learning. In respect of the latter point, Curtin has been a pioneer in successfully developing, and delivering, university degrees in the South East Asia market since the mid 1980's.

The 3-year degree offered by Curtin in conjunction with HKIM and SPACE in Hong Kong is identical to the degree offered in Australia in all respects. Therefore, the same standards of entry, and academic rigour, apply. Being an university based in an English speaking country, that also requires us to be satisfied as to each student's competency in that language. This approach has ensured that the standing and reputation of a Curtin degree, with both students and the business community, continues to be maintained at a high level. Further, in addition to appointing local teaching personnel of an excellent calibre, academics travel from Australia at some stage during each semester to deliver intensive seminars to the students on a face-to-face basis.

The degree offered is specifically designed for mature students [say, 23 years and above] who are currently working, and have some work experience. Therefore, the timing of most teaching and any examinations is scheduled for evenings or weekends. Students with appropriate academic qualifications, that is, certificates/diplomas in Marketing or related studies, may be granted up to one year of advanced standing, thus enabling them to enter the Curtin degree in the second year. The program is structured on a trimester basis, that is three semesters per annum, and is designed to enable students who have gained advanced standing, and who are working full-time, to complete their degree in two years.

In summary, this is a very relevant degree whose primary aims and objectives are to prepare students to organise and control marketing activities effectively and efficiently in a highly competitive and volatile environment with particular emphasis on marketing planning and strategy formulation. All three partners are recognised leaders in their respective fields, and deliver a degree of international standing.
