Mr. Elliott Yuen

Mr. Yuen is currently the General Manager of China for Puma, one of the leading global players in sporting goods.

Mr. Yuen is a veteran in consumer goods marketing and retailing with over 29 years of experience working in Asia Pacific and have held important management positions for international brands like Canon, Christian Dior, Wilson Sporting Goods and Campbell Soup in his early career.

Between 1988 and 1994, he was Managing Director for IKEA in Hong Kong seeing the business expanded to capture over 25% market share in the loose furniture market. In 1993, he launched IKEA in Taiwan which since then has become the top imported furniture brand in that market.

In 1994, Mr. Yuen co-founded Shanghai Tang together with entrepreneur David Tang as the founding CEO, a very successful Chinese gift store concept founded in Hong Kong and then expanded internationally under Richemont to New York, Miami, London, Paris, Dubai, Beijing , Shanghai and a number of key cities around the world.

Mr. Yuen became a jeweler in 1995 when he was Group CEO of TSL Jewelry, then the largest jewelry retailer in the Far East with over 120 stores in six countries.

Mr. Yuen is an award-winning manager. He received Jardine Matheson’s Managing Director’s Award in 1992. He won the HKMA/TVB Marketing Excellence Award three times separately for IKEA , TSL Jewelry and LensCrafters. In 1998, under Mr. Yuen’s leadership, TSL won three major management awards in one single year (Marketing Excellence, Total Quality Management and Training Excellence).

Mr. Yuen started his own business as an entrepreneur in 1999 to work on the ICON project, Asia’s first bricks-and-clicks category-killer concept on cosmetics and beauty products.

Since the turn of the millennium, Mr. Yuen concentrated his businesses in China with projects in concept store retailing, cosmetics, branded apparels and jewelry. His most recent China project was the green-field launch of Enzo Jewelry in 2004 which by the end of 2007 has grown to become the largest foreign jewelry chain store in China.

In 2005, Mr. Yuen joined the Luxottica Group, the global leader in optical products as their General Manager for Asia to spearhead an expanding network of some 300 LensCrafters optical stores in both Hong Kong and China.

Mr. Yuen obtained his first degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong in 1978 and later in 1993 his MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK. He was on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Retail Management Association for a number of years and is currently serving as an advisor to the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing, the Business Society of the University of Hong Kong.

阮先生是消費產品行銷與零售領域的元老,在亞太地區擁有近30年的行業經驗。

1988年至1994年期間,他擔任宜家香港地區總經理,率領宜家搶佔了當地傢俱市場25%的市場份額。

1993年,他將宜家推廣至台灣,從此牢牢佔據了台灣市場第一進口傢俱品牌的地位。

1994年阮先生與企業家鄧永鏘先生合作,創建了Shanghai Tang公司,並擔任CEO。

1995年,擔任謝瑞麟珠寶集團CEO,率領謝瑞麟大力拓展中國及亞洲市場。

1999打造ICON專案,成為亞洲地區首個針對化妝與美容產品的網上實體商店理念。

2004年在中國市場推出的恩佐(Enzo)珠寶。

2005年,加入全球光學產品領域的領導者Luxottica集團,擔任亞洲地區總經理,負責在香港及中國市場拓展亮視點 (LensCrafters) 的眼鏡精品店的網絡。

阮先生屢獲殊榮,1992年他榮獲怡和集團的常務董事大獎。他分別代表宜家、謝瑞麟以及亮視點(LensCrafters),三次榮膺HKMA/TVB行銷卓越獎。1998年,在阮先生的領導下,謝瑞麟連奪三項重要的年度管理獎項(行銷卓越獎、全面品質管制獎以及培訓卓越獎)。
