The Institute
now has an expanding membership of thousands of marketing professionals.
We are dedicated to providing members with a wide range of quality

Outstanding
Status
HKIM was officially founded on 12 November 1982, recognizing
Hong Kong¡¦s need for a professional association to represent
the growing number of marketers and to establish a networking
base for members to access industry-related resources
and materials. The Institute now has an expanding membership
of thousands of marketing professionals. We are dedicated
to providing members with a wide range of quality services
and benefits.
HKIM is a founding member of the Asia Pacific Marketing
Federation (APMF), which was established in 1992 in conjunction
with 16 other national marketing associations, including
those from Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Australia, South
Korea, the Philippines, New Zealand and Taiwan along with
other countries throughout the region. In addition, HKIM
is an important affiliate of the World Marketing Association
(WMA).
Learning and Networking Opportunities
HKIM provides a wide range of activities catering for
different needs of different members. These include:
C-Class Gatherings ¡V These are gatherings in which our
members mingle with CEOs, COOs, CFOs, Managing Directors,
business owners and senior managers of our Corporate Members.
They are networking opportunities with free-flowing of
ideas in a casual dinner environment.
Dinner Talks ¡V Participants will be able to benefit
from a professional development talk, network with marketers
of other fields and industries, and to meet marketing
practitioners and educators over a delightful dinner.
Seminars/Workshops ¡V Seminars of HKIM are renowned professional
events in marketing, covering a wide range of topics.
HKIM tailors them according to our member¡¦s needs.
Visits ¡V HKIM takes their members
to experience the daily operation of different corporations
in various industries.
Nurturing Professionals
HKIM organizes a wide range
of education programmes with local and overseas universities.
Courses are offered at the levels of certificate, diploma,
postgraduate diploma and executive diploma, which aim
to develop learners¡¦ knowledge and skills in marketing.
HKIM education programmes provide the route to professional
marketing qualifications and recognition. Students who
are admitted to one of the HKIM's education programmes
are entitled to be ¡¥Student Members¡¦ of our Institute.
Moreover, graduates of Professional Certificate and
Postgraduate Professional Diploma programmes meet the
education requirements for Associate Membership and
Full Membership of the Institute respectively.
Marketing Intelligence
HKIM aims to enhance our members¡¦ expert knowledge through
our professional publications.
Direction is a monthly newsletter of HKIM. It provides
the latest information of HKIM¡¦s activities, member benefits
and other events. Members are welcome to contribute to
Direction by submitting their articles through which they
can share their opinions or experience in the marketing
field with other fellow members.
Route to Success
Certified Professional Marketer
(Asia Pacific) [CPM(AP)]
CMP(AP) is a prestigious qualification awarded by the
Asia Pacific Marketing Federation (APMF). HKIM members
can obtain the qualification through the Certified Professional
Marketer (Asia Pacific) Qualifying Examination. Upon successful
completion of the examination, candidates will be eligible
to apply for the designation.
Continuing Professional Development
Scheme
Marketing professionals should always keep their knowledge
and skills up-to-date. HKIM Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) scheme is a system designed to encourage members
to continuously develop and upgrade their marketing professionalism.
